It’s getting pretty obvious (apart from the stores having had Christmas decorations for sale for 3 months already) with the amount of goodwill and generosity in the air from corporate Australia.
Team building for a cause… This year more than ever, we are receiving multiple calls and enquiries each day for the end of year team events and activities that have a community focus and dare I say, tap into the corporate social responsibility to give back to those less fortunate.
Australian business supports loads of great causes around the country, and with an even greater need for money and resources on the ground, especially for the lesser known charities and non-profits, XL Events have identified a gap where the generosity is felt immediately by the kids who need it most.
Since the beginning of July this year, XL Events have facilitated the generous donation of:
570 kids bikes,
2 trucks full of kids toys,
2300 warm nutritious meals for those living rough on the streets of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane,
$3800 in cash donations to our favourite kids’ charities working at the coalface dealing with trauma and heartache every day.
The Community Kitchen activity is one of our most popular team building activities this year, cooking and packaging meals to be handed out on the streets immediately after the event.
It’s easy to give a few dollars and feel better about yourself, however actually preparing and cooking a warm meal for a family who would otherwise go hungry tends to raise more awareness on social issues, and make an immediate impact on both the people cooking, and the people receiving the meals.
If your organisation, or even your team are looking for team building for charity ideas to make a real difference this year, as well as have some fun and engage your team, why not consider a community aligned team building activity, and put more than smiles on everyone involved!
